DepartmentsThe Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller’s Office consists of six departments with one Executive office. Below is a summary of the services that each provides. Budget DepartmentThe Budget Department prepares and manages the budget for the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller. Courts Management DepartmentThis Department provides a variety of court services in support of the judiciary and the public. Learn more about the Courts Management Department. Executive OfficeThe Executive Office includes the Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller, Chief Deputy Clerk, and the executive support staff. The Executive Office also houses the support staff for the Value Adjustment Board. The Value Adjustment Board is the entity before which taxpayers can challenge denial of exemptions and valuations as decided by the Property Appraiser. Records & Administrative Services DepartmentThe Records & Administrative Services Department processes all documents to be recorded into the Official Records of Lake County, and processes marriage license and passport applications. The Department also provides human resources, purchasing, records management, and other support services to the Clerk’s Office. Finance DepartmentThe Finance Department manages all accounting functions for the Clerk’s Office. It also provides financial and accounting services to the Board of County Commissioners, in addition to producing minutes of the Board of County Commissioners’ meetings and related entities. Information Technology DepartmentThe Information Technology Department provides technical support for the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller, including computer and network support, emergency disaster data preparedness, and information management. Inspector GeneralThe Inspector General Department, under the authority of the Clerk, conducts internal audits for the Clerk’s Office, and the Board of County Commissioners, in accordance with International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and the Code of Ethics published by the Institute of Internal Auditors. The department also reviews and investigates fraud, waste, and abuse claims made against the county. Additionally, the Department conducts all Lake County guardianship audits. |
