Payment Plans

Payment plans are agreements between you and the Lake County Clerk of Court to assist in the payment of fines, fees, and court costs. Court payment plans are managed through the Courts Management Department, and allow you to make periodic payments related to civil cases, criminal cases, and traffic citations.

There is a service charge of $25 for establishing a payment plan.

Failure to make timely payments pursuant to the terms of a payment plan may result in the assessment of late fees and driver license suspension pursuant to Sections 318.15 and 322.245, Florida Statutes. Any three missed payments may result in your case being referred to a collection agency, and the collection agency may add additional fees of up to 40% to the outstanding balance pursuant to Section 28.246(6), Florida Statutes.

A payment plan can be initiated by:

• Visiting the Clerk’s Office at the Lake County Courthouse, East Wing, First Floor, 550 W. Main St., Tavares, FL 32778,
• Calling the Payment Plan Office at 352-742-4176, or
• Submitting a completed Payment Plan Application following the steps below:
  1. Complete the Application through Section 6, and email it to [email protected].
  2. Clerk staff will review the application, complete the payment plan terms, and return the application to the email address provided.
  3. Review the payment plan terms and conditions. If in agreement, sign and date the Acknowledgement of Terms section and return it to [email protected].
  4. Upon receipt of your completed application, a detailed payment schedule will be returned to you at the email address provided.
