Expunge & Seal RecordThe Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller’s Office processes petitions seeking to seal or expunge court records filed in Circuit and County Court. The expunction of a criminal record generally causes the record to be treated as if it never existed. Sealing a criminal record means the record is secure and inaccessible to any person not having a legal right of access to the record or the information contained and preserved therein. Several types of relief to seal or expunge criminal history records are available. View more information and forms to seal or expunge court records. Submission of DocumentsThe Florida Rules of General Practice and Judicial Administration require that petitions, pleadings, and documents be filed electronically except in certain circumstances. Self-represented litigants (pro se) may file petitions or other pleadings or documents electronically; however, they are not required to do so. If you choose to file your pleadings or other documents electronically, you must do so in accordance with Florida Rule of General Practice and Judicial Administration 2.525. If you are filing a petition for expungement or sealing of a court record, all documents can be submitted to the Lake County Clerk’s Office one of the following ways:
