eMarriage

eMarriage is an online marriage license pre-application program that will save time when applying for a marriage license. By using the eMarriage application, you can fill out, at your convenience, all of the necessary information required by the State of Florida to obtain a marriage license. Online applications are valid for 45 calendar days from the day they are submitted.

All marriage licenses are issued once both parties appear in-person together at the Clerk’s Office with proper identification and payment.

NOTE: There is a three-day waiting period for Florida residents that have not completed a premarital preparation course from a qualified course provider registered with the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller. The three-day wait begins once the couple appears in front of the marriage license clerk to complete the application process.

Using the eMarriage Application System:

1. Read the disclaimer to understand that by filling out the online application, you must still appear before the Clerk and meet the State of Florida’s requirements for a marriage license. Completing the online form does not mean you are married.
2. Enter information in all of the required fields and submit. The information will go into the Clerk’s queue for processing.
3. You will receive an on-screen confirmation upon completing the online application.
4. Within 45 days of completing the online application, both you and your partner must come to the Marriage License/Passport Section with proper identification and form of payment.
5. The three (3) day waiting period does not begin until you both appear before a marriage license clerk to complete the application process.
6. At that time, the Clerk will determine if your application is accepted.
